History
Catch was founded on 6th July 2004 in Auckland, New Zealand. They were starting in the SDLC space as a consultancy business partnering with Sparx Systems and utilising their modelling tool, Enterprise Architect, as Catch’s tool of choice for specifications. Catch grew rapidly, placing in the New Zealand Deloitte FAST 50 two years running and the Asia Pacific FAST 500 three years running. Along with Catch’s rapid growth, it soon became clear from its customers that quality assurance and testing were a much-needed capability. In addition, it soon became apparent that a test management tool was needed when other suitable tools could not be found. So Catch took on the initiative to develop its own product to help manage its internal testing but also on behalf of its customers.
A key objective was to provide an enterprise-level tool enabling the customer to realise value through creating and maintaining quality standards across the organisation. In February 2008, Enterprise Tester was first released. Customers can achieve greater visibility and traceability of their quality life cycle by providing an intuitive enterprise tool. Enterprise Tester is now used by organisation’s worldwide, in various sectors from government to high-profile Silicon Valley tech companies, to SMEs.
Partnerships
Strategic partnerships are key to the Catch story. From the beginning of 2004, Catch has been a partner of Microsoft. In 2007 the company partnered with Atlassian, gaining the status of Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner, reflecting the investment in training the team and recommending the Atlassian solution to their customers. Catch has focused on adding value through integration between the two solutions, enabling customers to use the Atlassian & Catch toolchain, increasing their agility, maturing their practices, and developing better products and services.
In addition to the two partnerships, Catch also has an enterprise-grade infrastructure and hosting platform to support Atlassian, Catch Platform, Azure Dev-ops and third-party toolchains. We brand these solutions Catch Cloud ranging from a single instance to highly sophisticated secure environments.
Today Catch continues to work together with customers evolving their processes, practices and technology through its consultancy services, cloud enablement and it’s next generation test management tooling.
